Super Nun
Trapazoid World

This is a picture of a girl in a very strange 2-D world. sometimes I wish I could live in this world but I'd probably go blind because of all the colors. Anyway, I just want to know where you think this palce really is (in the real world) Here are some options: My brain, Querzant (a planet I made up in 3rd grade), Mars or the back of a C.D. After you're done deciding, go to Caitlin's Art to see more of my pictures.
What is his name? We will tell you.

Jacob Juggles at Soccer Practice
It was a rare sunny day for soccer practice on Monday of last week (3/24/08) so I shot some video of Jacob juggling the ball. Jacob's coach is really good at teaching ball skills and the boys really get a workout each week. Jacob is doing really well and I thought you'd like to see some of his "moves".

More Silliness
Joseph had an orthodontist appointment yesterday. On the way there he saw a Ford F-550, so we drove around the block so he could get pictures of it.The orthodontist said that Joseph doesn't have to wear elastics this month. Yeah!
Preston's class at school gets to put a marble in a jar everytime they behave well. They filled the whole jar, so yesterday they got to bring games to school and play all day. Preston took a computer game, Dr. Seuss Kindergarten.
It was superhero day at Caitlin's school yesterday. She dressed up with a black skirt, a black cape, a white shirt and a gold belt. The kids at school called her super nun. After school she changed out of her costume before I could get a picture.

Caitlin Plays for the Youth Talent Show
Caitlin played one of her original compositions for the Youth Talent Show tonight. She was the first one on the program, so silly me, I didn't have my camera out and ready to shoot, but I got it going during the introduction. I also realized while I was filming, that I was on the wrong side of the gym, but my friend, Erin, encouraged me to get on the right side just after Caitlin started playing.
Joseph Plays Pirates of the Carribean
Tonight was the combined Young Men's Young Women's Talent show. Joseph played a song from Pirates of the Carribean. They didn't have a printed program, and I was still sitting on the wrong side of the gym from the piano, so I jumped up as soon as they said his name and caught his introduction as I was crossing to the other side. They announced him as "Little Joseph". The Bishop was laughing because the song Joseph played is a drinking song. For some reason our bishop gets all giddy when someone mentions beer. If you listen carefully you can hear him chuckling as Joseph is moving the hymn books off the piano.
Jacob Got His Report Card Yesterday
Jacob got his report card yesterday. His teacher said, "Jacob is a brilliant young man with significant potential. On a daily basis Jacob has new insights and understandings to share with the rest of the class about things that are relevant to our classroom learning that he has either pondered deeply about in class or other learning that has taken place outside of the class. His thought provoking wonderings keep us all on our toes! Jacob is a wonderful, creative boy and I very much enjoy having him in class!"
Good job Jacob.

Preston's Second Report Card

Preston got his second report card for this year in Kindergarden. His teacher said, "Preston is making great progress. He knows all of his upper case letters now, most of his lower case letters, and most of his sounds. Preston is strongest in math, passing all of the benchmarks for this grading period. His writing and quality of work is improving too. Preston has a few friends but is nice and kind to everyone in class. That is so great to see."
Here's what we were doing last night.

Preston's Joke
If you go in the dictionary and you look up "gullible", you'll find a picture of you!
wHAT IS THAT!?
Dad and Jacob Prepare for Pinewood Derby
We are working really hard (and having lots of fun) getting ready for the Pinewood Derby. It's always an interesting thing competing against a bunch of Boeing engineers who I'm sure use a CAD system and wind tunnel testing to design their cars! We really don't care who wins, because neither Jacob nor his dad are competitive at all. Yeah right ... Friday should be fun.
Joseph Played for Kari's Baptism
Joseph has a piano student who just turned 8 years old. She asked him to play the piano for her baptism which was yesterday (Saturday). He played the opening song "When I am Baptized", the intermediate song "When Jesus Christ was Baptized", the Closing Song "I Belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints" and a whole bunch of prelude music before the meeting and while she was getting dressed after the baptism. Her family was really pleased that Joseph would come and do that for the baptism. They all thought he did a good job.
